Post TromaDance 2010
As it said before you clicked into this section of the board, TromaDance has moved from Park City/SLC to Asbury Park, New Jersey. :(

I can't say I'm not disappointed, since I was fully intending on making this my third TromaDance in a row, but I'd be more than willing to take a trip out to New Jersey depending on the circumstances. If there's some kind of TromaDance condo (because I'm too cheap to shell out for a motel), I'll definitely attend.

*sigh*...I'm sooooo gonna miss the snow and the cold and the snooty people on the street and the violent illnesses and the lack of running water.... :(

I think it's a good idea to move it. The last place I would want to travel is some freezing cold snow covered snobby hellhole.

From what I understand/heard/assume, it wasn't exactly a voluntary *choice* to move...it IS an expensive location, after all.

I always thought it was a great location; cold weather aside (which was responsible for getting literally every volunteer sick for at least one day of the festival), Park City was where it was AT, and being concurrent with Sundance was really the purpose of Tromadance in the first place. The air of snobbishness only made parading through the streets in Tox gear so much more rewarding...I like to think that Tromadance was the Al Czervik to Sundance's Bushwood Country Club.

Maybe 2011 will be a possibility...

It's at The Showroom. I've never been there, but it looks...small. I hope I can go.

This kinda took away the whole purpose for me to go. I mean, I want to go to Tromadance but one of the things that made it so fun was that it was in the middle of Sundance.

A friend of mine was going to screen his film in Park City and wanted me to tag along as a Troma volunteer. That sounded like two fun things to do at once making the trip worthwhile.

:( This sucks.

This news is bumsville for me cause I actually got my shit together and submitted all 5 of my movies to Tromadance for the first time. :(

However now that the submission date has been moved back to March, I'll have time to finish the 2 new feature films I've been working on. That will be a total of 7 feature films submitted to Tromadance from the same director in one year. Think it's a record? lol

im glad its gonna be in jersey, i realize originally the whole idea was to deliver a giant fuck you the sundance, seeing that they have the nerve to call themselves independent when the films that are shown are usually made for over a million dollars, but tromadance is its own festival in its own right now. And besides i was at asbury lanes from tromapalooza in august and everyone had a great time, i look forward to it this year.

I didn't finish 2, but I did finish 1 feature film, and submitted it. That's all 6 feature films from Hack Movies sent to this year's Tromadance. Anyone know when they're going to make the announcement of the selections?
